We, at VIER shoes, believe that life is already serious enough.
Live a little - have a little fun - because it’s the little things that count.

At VIER we believe in the traditional craft of shoemaking. Taking time perfecting details, taking pride in our work and materials. We believe in shoes that last and that are comfortable. We believe in timeless classic’s, in design, silhouettes, but we also believe it’s important to have a bit of least once in a while. Therefore, we design classic shoes, but always with a little something, a little extra, a little twist.

VIER’s inspiration is drawn from a combination of the known and the unknown, the familiar and the intriguing, usually juxtaposing things that seldom go together, but result in something different and unexpected.

Every pair of VIER shoes is handcrafted in Portugal by a family owned business, that has mastered the traditional craftsmanship of shoemaking. Since generations they have perfected the craft of Goodyear Welted shoes, which is the most traditional and durable stitching technique.

As with the design, tradition and innovation always go hand in hand at VIER shoes, therefore our details are laser cut, incorporating modern technology into our craftsmanship process.

For its launch collection VIER has introduced the Arcade Line playing homage to the 80s, the iconic arcade video game PAC-MAN
TM and celebrating PAC-MANTM 40th anniversary. Presenting a new interpretation of classic brogues.

About Sophia

Sophia Castell-Rüdenhausen, née Mautner Markhof,’s love for shoes began as early as being a little child playing with her mother’s stilettos. It must have been then that Sophia developed an eye for all things shoes. Her graduate collection was exhibited at the LCF Press Show 2015.

Sophia gained experience at Lena Hoschek in 2010 and in 2012 at Richemont Northern Europe in Vienna, as well as design experience in 2016 at Rupert Sanderson in London.

2017 she graduated with a Master’s degree at IED Madrid, Dirección y Gestión de Producto de Moda (Product management). While studying in Madrid the idea of VIER shoes was born. Subtle twist and details are key components to all VIER designs. The following year Sophia founded VIER GmbH in Germany.
